The Ed
Chuck Norris is...

So hard he can kill two stones with one bird! Pictured is ex-pat Welshman and boat designer for Confluence Watersports Mark Snowy Robertson. Snow's pictured with none other than legendary movie tough guy Chuck Norris! He met the round-housing star at a book signing, but was a little disapointed with the Chuckonator's handshake, he said "I got to shake the hand of Chuck Norris last night. He didn’t even break my fingers or round house kick me to the face. I was very disappointed. In fact he had a worryingly soft hand shake! Not like a salmon hand but not the firm grasp you would expect from a trained killer!" For some fun Chuck Facts check out www.chucknorrisfacts.com

Hungry Fish

Headed over to the Canolfan Tryweryn this weekend to make a flying visit to the Pyranha Festival. What a great event, there was a ton of workshops going on, coaching sessions on the water and a constant stream of paddlers enjoying the different sections of the river. Team paddlers, including the White Water Warriors Andy Phillips and Mikey Abbott Sam were on hand to share their river running wisdom and the guys at Pyranha where also show casing their two new models the Karnali and Z-One. We'll bring you a full report in issue 94 and we'll be putting the new boats to the test as soon as possible. www.pyranha.com

Viva Espania!

Been a bit quiet on the blog front for the past two weeks due to the dreaded deadline (got a corker of an issue coming in the shape of 93 though) and a cheeky week off to to mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Spain. What an amazing place, some tough climbs, but hours and hours of mind-boggling technical descents and scorching single track. With a great bunch of blokes the banter was fierce & funny and out Canadian guide Mike did well to withstand it, even when he received several jokes about his crown jewels after a particularly nasty stack involving his handlebars! If you like a bit of biking in between with your boating I cant recommend Mike and his www.switch-backs.com crew enough. Excellent.
