Pyranha Paddle Fest

On the weekend of the 20th and 21st it was Pyranha's first paddle fest up at the Tryweryn. A range of courses were offered from TomParker Coaching.

On Saturday I chose the freestyle course which was held at the Chipper Hole and the NRA. Tricky woos, Air Loops and Blunts were all being thrown. In the afternoon it was time for the BoaterX! All the juniors were put in the first heat together and it was a close race to decide who was going through. I just piped Sam at the post and progressed to the semi-final. In the semis two people would go through. After a missed touch board from the third competitor my place in the final was guaranteed despite my popped deck. I was the youngest in the final by a long way but due to some good pole dodging and some fast running skills the win was mine.

On Sunday all the paddlers took to the water again (if not a bit later due to the party). I was booked on to the 'White Water Warriors'. All of them are brilliant boaters and my river running skills really improved. We finished the weekend with a final Chipper Hole session before heading down for a hot shower.

It was a great weekend and I will definitely go again next year.
