Now you may have excuse my slow uptake to the modern world of 3D. As it has taken me sometime to enter the three dimensional world of visual theater.
I was sadly not one of the many million who lined up to see Avatar, neither have I entered the realms of HD and blueray; which if I am not mistaken sounds like a tropical fish.
Now this is where my slight abundance to keep up to date with modern day cinema ends. As new to the screen this year was Toy Story 3. I must say I am an avid fan of Woody and Buzz along with the whole gang. They are by far my favorite characters that grace the screen. They have far more action and common sense than bambi who has a tendency to slip on ice. They also seem to have a bit more pannash about them especially when compared,to other children's characters like Donald duck who doesn't even speak and never seems to wear any trousers; yet I hasten to add, places a towel around his waist when he steps out of the shower.
When the film was out I resisted the temptation to go and see it. I didn't want to sit amongst noisy kids with their bags full of sweets and liters of precariously placed fizzy drinks. Meanwhile I watched as the UK embraced in Woody and Buzz spirit I remember walking past a disney store longingly as I saw a child and his parents buy a buzz light year action figure, with the utility belt.
Finally I went to see it, an excited school boy once more arouse inside me. Once at the ticket counter I asked for a ticket for Toy Story grinning ear to ear. The hapless ticket lady who for the sake of this story I am going to call Wendy, handed me my ticket and explained about the glasses. While she was printing the ticket I put them on. Wendy turned around without a flicker of appreciation of my child-like state. She handed me my change, I reached out to take it and said " Wow 3D is good it's almost like I can reach out and touch." My small quip wasn't well received, I went and took my seat.
The film as you can imagine was fantastic! As for the glasses I am getting plenty of use out of them. I wear them around the house now. I bump into things on the odd occasion. But it's great for jazzing up your room, my buzz lightyear wallpaper really jumps out at you.

Peak UK hits the Peaks

I thought some of you multiday bods out there would find this of interest. Main man of Peak UK, Pete Astles, as decided to combined the three highest Peaks with a splash of Sea Kayaking in between.
Pete plans to summit Snowdon, Scafell and the fabled Ben Nevis. In between Pete is Sea Kayaking around the coast to each destination. Very exciting stuff indeed! So far Pete has already endured force 5 winds and merciless rain.
To keep up on Pete's adventure visit
